SILKSCREENING

Concept + Design

The first step in the screenprinting process is to create the design that will be printed. This can be done using graphic design software such as Adobe Illustrator, or by hand-drawing the design and scanning it into a digital format.

Prep

The next step is to prepare the mesh screen that will be used to transfer the design onto the surface being printed.

Tests + Approval

Before Printing, tests prints are done on sample fabrics to ensure that colors are accurate to the design.  Photos are sent for approval before proceeding to print.

Printing

The ink is then applied to the top of the screen, and a squeegee is used to press the ink through the open area of the screen and onto the surface being printed. The screen is lifted away, revealing the printed design. The process is repeated for each color in the design, with a separate screen and ink for each color.

Curing + FINISHING

Once the printing is complete, the ink is cured to ensure that the print is durable and long-lasting.  the garment may be hot pressed, and Depending on the request, a sewn embellishment will then be added afterwords.
